Any Spartan II or Spartan III would absolutely annihilate any Spartan IV. Except for maybe Thorne. He'd put up a good fight.

 • That's not really fair, seeing as Spartan IIIs don't have superior equipment that the IIs and IVs have. Mjolnir armour >>>>>>> SPI armour

 • As if equipment alone dictates how effective a soldier can be. Spartan II's were tearing apart Elites in MJOLNIR. Spartan III's were doing the same, at half their age, and with an armor that doesn't even enhance their augmentations. SIV's might have better equipment then them, but do they really have as much combat experience? Hell no.

 • How were Spartan IIIs tearing apart Elites? They had less augmentations and didnt even wear MJOLNIR, I don't see how it is possible that they could do this.

 • I'm not saying literally of course. But had you read the novels, you would see how Spartan III's in SPI armor could easily defeat an Elite in CQC or just in general.

 • I read Ghosts of Onyx, Spartan IIIs are at a MAJOR disadvantage. If I had to guess which one would win in a fight, I would say a Spartan III(MAYBE), you extremely underestimate Spartan IVs.

 • The only disadvantage they are at against Spartan IV's are equipment. If Spartan III's all had MJOLNIR then there would be no contest over who would win. I'm not extremely underestimating them, it's just pretty simple given the facts that we know that being regular soldiers with almost certainly less augmentations, they can't stand to Spartan III's.

 • Yes they can stand a Spartan III. I know that they are beaten equipment wise as I said before. That is why I have given them my vote. Spartan IIIs on the other hand have much better fighting skills, but my vote is still a Spartan IV.

 • Equipment helps, but alone does not decide the turn of the fight. Everyone somehow thinks that SIV's are near SII quality because they have MJOLNIR. Let's not forget that rebels managed to capture Blue Team easily with outdated tech.

 • That's what I meant, they are not as skilled but more powerful.

 • Compared to a Spartan III, they may have better equipment but their augmentations are not on par with what the Spartan III's have, so the advantage MJOLNIR grants is not as big as most think.

 • It totally is. MJOLNIR is extremely powerful, making anyone who wears it at least 6 times more proficient in every single aspect. Not to mention you HAVE to have been augmented to certain extent survive wearing an MJOLNIR, this proves that even if Spartan VIs had MOST augmentations done to them.

 • That doesn't prove anything. To wear MJOLNIR all you need is the ceramic augmentation and the muscle density. With those alone you can wear MJOLNIR. The main impediment is the weight of the armor and not being strong enough to actually operate it. I doubt other than that, the IV's have anything else. Spartan III's have the full array of augmentations which enhance their reflexes and all the others. MJOLNIR doesn't compensate for something that is built into your body. And if it does, it leave them on an almost equal footing. If we gave SIII's MJOLNIR it would be overkill.

 • The augmentations the SII's and SIII's have have been adapted perfectly to their bodies and their metabolisms. They are essentially now one and have add more than enough time to perfect and reach their new limits with them. SIV's only have a couple a couple years at most.

 •
The main impediment is the weight of the armor and not being strong enough to actually operate it.
What?!? MJOLNIR makes you better in EVERY way, remember? Lol you would feel LIGHTER if you wore MJOLNIR, not heavier.
MJOLNIR doesn't compensate for something that is already built in your body
And no Spartan IIIs don't haw the FULL set of augmentations, or else they would be on par with the Spartan IIs.

 • No. Absolutely not. Spartan II's and Spartan III's have been bred for war and combat. Spartan IV's are recruits from other branches of the military. They are no where near as augmented as previous generations to even begin to compete with them.
