It's very capable as a primary system. It works well on its own merit. Best exclusives, incoming third party games, only system that does more than a graphics boost.
Best exclusives
dem opinions mang.
incoming third party games
No EA or Ubisoft.
only system that does more than a graphics boost.
It's considerably less powerful than the X1 and PS4. Xbox One and PS4 aren't just graphics boosts either.
Ubis making all their games this year for Wii U and waiting to comment further until the Holidays for sales. EA has said if the thing sells, they will put their games on it. With the star lineup, no doubt it will sell.
Yup opinions galore. What isn't opinion is the sales numbers and profitability.
Not really, the Wii U's potential is understated. Hell Mark Cerny, PS4 engineer recently talked about how they considered some eDRAM which would skyrocket the PS4's power but it would make it more complex so they decided against it. Guess who's using eDRAM, yeah Nintendo. It takes longer to develop for, but the results are worth it. When used correctly by devs, it will have similar, if not the same, results as the other two systems.
More Opinions.
What the other dude said, I'll be at 3 years any time now. Could use the older account but it's just a few more months, meh used to this one.
Can I not use a forum just because a game may not be coming to the system I play? Also, at this point it could still be on Wii U.
Sure, was just saying. And, yeah it's possible it could be on it, I doubt it though.
Honestly, I hope Nintendo goes back to a regular console, like N64 or Gamecube, but it needs to be just as powerful as what Sony and MS has, or more powerful.
What is a regular console? It's just as capable. Honestly the difference will be like 360 to PS3, not that great. I don't think they need more power, and they are the only ones doing something different. Sure, the Wiimote, call it a gimmick, I can see that. It can lose it's appeal w/e. I don't feel the same way about the Gamepad, I think it's what we've been needing.
It is a new way of playing games, changing gaming as we know it in a way that isn't just for dance games and gimmicky stuff. This is something that benefits the core gamers, like with the Wavebird back in the GC days. It's clear that's what Sony's wants to emulate with Remote Play, and MS with Smartglass. We are going in that direction. Second screen gaming is a good thing imo.
As for the power, Wii U architecture is different from the other two which use simpler tech to make it easier for develop for while having high caches of RAM to counter that. While Wii U does the opposite, it's got low RAM, about 1.5 for games but it's also got 35MB of eDRAM which Sony avoided as it'd be easier to develop without it, but with it you can potentially get tons more power with, ooh and guess who is using it.
We'll see about Destiny, I'm hopeful if the Wii U reaches it's sales goal and starts the 2014 fiscal year with an install base of 12-14 million while the other console are just getting off the ground, I think they'll see that as a reason to start checking out the Wii U.
