Didn't read. I'm probably going to get called a few things for this but honestly...
What are your thoughts on this?
No -blam!-s given whatsoever. I don't take cyber bullying seriously in the least bit. You know why?
'Cause it's on the -blam!-ing internet. That's why.
It's too damn easy to just stop going to the site, block a person, change accounts or simply make yourself more anonymous (i.e. quit posting pictures of yourself and handing out information like candy on Halloween). And before someone accuses me of being insensitive, or says something like "it's easy for you to say all that 'cause you've never experienced it." well you can stop right there. I have been harassed (I'm not going to say "bullied" 'cause that just sounds dumb) both online and irl. I got over it. If a depressed person like me with zero confidence in myself can get over it, so can others, especially if said harassment is only online. I could go on, but there really is no need to. I'm also going to mention that I understand that the site itself isn't necessarily what made her commit suicide. She most likely had some crap going on in her life that was hard for her to handle and used the internet as a means of dealing with it, not knowing that the internet would just make things worse. I can assume this because that's how I was (and still am to a certain extent). I'm not going to go into detail as to why I'm depressed, but I used things like xbl and the internet to sort of escape reality. Unfortunately as I said that just makes you feel worse do to the kind of people on the internet. If you're already feeling blue, going online to escape and instead getting bashed whether because of your appearance, the sound of your voice, the way you play a video game, your sexual preference, your religion etc. isn't going to make you feel any better, so I understand what she most likely went through. However, that doesn't mean there aren't other options. For one, you can get off your computer all together and find a hobby that you enjoy and use that hobby as a means of escaping reality instead of the internet.

  • Thank you. Cyberbullying is easily avoidable by the "victim".
I don't take cyber bullying seriously in the least bit.
I now respect you less.
If a depressed person like me with zero confidence in myself can get over it
Not everyone is you. Also: Doesn't sound like you have zero confidence in yourself.

  • Its funny, society is more worried about cyber bullying than actual bullying.

  •
I now respect you less.
That's nice.
Not everyone is you.
Didn't say that, nor did I imply it.
Also: Doesn't sound like you have zero confidence in yourself.
You're basing that off of one post in which I hardly described anything about myself other than saying I'm depressed and have zero confidence, how presumptuous...

  •
Didn't say that, nor did I imply it.
You implied that because you have zero self confidence that anyone can get over cyber bullying and that thus, feeling victimized by it is a cop out. You're making the assumption that you are a zero, the lowest point possible, on the scale on how shitty you can feel about yourself and thus that everyone else is ahead of you and has no excuse.
You're basing that off of one post in which I hardly described anything about myself other than saying I'm depressed and have zero confidence, how presumptuous...
Two posts now.

I'm not going to argue with you sunshine... I was simply using myself as an example, not saying I'm a zero and everyone else is above me so they have no excuses, but if that's how you want to take it be my guest... You don't know anything about me or how I am irl, you can only go off of my post history on this site, which isn't an accurate measure of my self confidence by any means.

  • Words of wisdom, though it was a little harsh.
