Have you played the game that I linked at the bottom? That's what I'm aiming for and I don't think the cabal will fit that horde feel. Mars and the titan are a good idea though

Then do the Hive. Space zombies would work well for a horde. Only I wouldn't do it in the desert if you do zombies. Do it indoors
