OP you might as well just say "how many of you know a programming language?" Since if you know one you pretty much know them all at least on a basic level.

I can't really comment on all of the popular languages, but high-level languages like Python with a slow runtime have a substantial difference to low-level implementation languages like Java and the C languages because they prioritize different qualities.

I wouldn't equate Java with C and I [i]certainly[/i] wouldn't say Java is a low level language.
