I read on the wiki that after the autumn left, he fought against an entire army of covenant that had air support and mortar tank support, and the battle lasted for hours.
Not only that, but Noble Six is probably just as good as the MC, since Halsey says that he's the only spartan that is rated hyper lethal, besides johnathon

(I'm not defending chief, I'm just stating facts) Chief himself defeated an entire covenant army. It was in the Halo 2 fight scene trailer. (I don't have a link ATM since I'm on mobile) but he is shown slaughtering a huge group of covenant including elite zealots. Although I truly believe that John would lose, I just wanted to point that out.
