I started getting into working out after full recovery from my kneecap stabilisation surgery too.
Not to be the bringer of bad news but depending on your activity you'll most likely suffer some degree of muscular atrophy from lack of movement.

After my 2 surgery, I lost about 3 1/2 inches in my thigh. Took months and months of PT to gain most of it back.

I'm a stubborn SOB, I may suffer from Atrophy at first, but I refuse to let that stop me. I'm not going to be Adonis when I'm back in the gym but perhaps a good solid build when I'm down.

You'll probably be referred to a physiotherapist first depending on the degree of atrophy.
