It think both Titanfall and Halo 4 have Mech suits covered.

I guess my point is that with a next-gen title about to come out that is ALL ABOUT mechs, it seems silly to me to even bother. However, as mentioned below, there's a piece of Fallen concept art floating around that showcases "Walkers" or some kind. So who knows....

If they had mechs it won't hurt multiplayer. So many BF3 players and other FPSs communities that have heavy armor running around these guys are no slouches in taking down fast moving specialized tanks. It doesn't look like Bungie skimped on the Rocket Launcher so if Mechs are available they'll be good defensive and offensive platforms against larger packs of Ai. Just seeing the concept art and the Devil Walker makes me wish for something more advanced than a gun platform on treads.

I mentioned this in any other person's comment: They are kind of an overused plot device to make combat interesting. Utilized too often by amines, video games, etc. Now double them in size, give them to our enemies, and create missions where we zip thru their legs with Sparrows and we're in business.
