Microsoft has said that the wireless controller has been built with the ability to become a wired controller using a micro USB cable. If that doesn't float your boat, I'm sure a dedicated wired controller will come out later but they'll probably be pushing wireless and micro USB for a while.
The USB charger still uses the controller as a wireless one with unlimited power, but as long as there's leads latency of longer battery life i wont really mind, i found the recharge packs for 360 a bit bipolar so i keep the play and charge connected anyway
Is that how it is on the 360? I've only ever used wireless and the various press about the One's "wired" controllers says that it will switch off the controller's wireless functions and allow data to be sent through the cord.
Yeah the 360 ones are still use the wireless even when plugged in, i tried using the controllers on my PC and it turned on my Xbox, i hope the Xbox one controllers will function as wired when plugged in
