I would like it if they only released DLC expansions instead of sequel titles, that be cool to just continue playing one title.

But would you want to pay full price for it? If content is content and your gaining another 20-40 hours of play time, I wonder if players would feel its worth 60 bucks if its called dlc and not destiny2. If people buy in to it, then it doesn't really matter what they call it.

Yes but with the new systems coming out with a standard 500GB the price on the 360 and PS3 hard drives will go down in price.

It would take a lot of space (although 4 games + 4 DLC would theoretically occupy the same space as 1 game with 7 expansions) but if Earth and the moon are in game 1, but game 2 doesn't take place there then you'd be unable to return to those places. Having the game expand rather than be replaced with each sequel allows you to return to places you've been before. While this isn't important to everyone, a not insignificant portion of gamers like returning to these old places to do things like explore, look for Easter eggs/surprises, finishes achievements, and help guildies.
