A religion is a system of traditions, texts, and faith-based beliefs. There are religions that do not have gods, like Buddhism. Conversely, there are people who believe in God but do not affiliate themselves with the social structures that make up a religion.

All right, ill go with you there simply because I do believe in a god, but not in any single religion. I believe it's called deitism? Don't quote me on that.
