Yes. The photons interact by electromagnetic interaction rather than by mass collision because obviously photons are massless.

But then what do we see, is it simply light or something else.

No it's simply light. It's appearing as the same way when light reflects off other things but by electromagnetic interaction rather than elastic collision but it's still the same affect just by a different mechanism is all.
