I would not mind seeing 3rd person view in PVE areas only. For adversarial play 3rd person would be bad, letting you peek around a corner without actually stepping around said corner.

Well 3rd Person view compensates for Limited Field of view in 1st Person Mode .. And it IS Great .. See Army of two ( First Part only) or Skyrim, Last of us, etc ...

This will only be a problem for PVP. In PVE play it will not matter if your buddy yer playin with can peek around corners or not. Also, first person view gives a lot of ppl motion sickness, I've heard this is pretty common with female gamers. My wife can only plat third person.
