Since when was realism more important than gameplay?

Mars also doesn't have a civilization on it, Venus doesn't have Jungles, and there are no aliens for us to fight in the real world. So by your reasoning, Bungie shouldn't be making Destiny in the first place. Ignoring my argument will not defeat it. Videogames have always chosen to selectively to deviate and align itself with reality whenever it benefits the whims of the Game Designer. This thread has nothing to do with realism, it has everything to do with game balance.

Just saying in 700 years we could be living on Mars. We could have terraformed Venus. We definitely would have awesome snipers. Who cares about fair guns if we are all fighting aliens. Your argument is still invalid

Bungie cares. This game isn't just cooperative tiddily winks where you can throw random stuff into the sandbox without upsetting things, there's going to be competitive player versus player modes. I'm certain they would prefer an interesting and healthy metagame over one where spawning with a Sniper is a dominant strategy, choking out everything else.

If they had PVP modes then I would bet that they would make you start with a assault rifle and a pistol or something like in halo. I don't think they'd let you use your guns from the campaign.

Chris Butcher and other Bungie top men have said in several interviews that you'll be able to take all your shit into PvP.
