What's the point in having a Queen in England?

I'm sorry I'm not trying to offend anyone. I just want to know why they still have a queen. I guess she has influence on the people, but isn't the government the people who are really in charge? Does she do anything? I'll say it again I'm not trying to get anyone angry, I just want to know what she actually does.

    • As I understand, the Queen is the head of state in England, where as the Prime Minister is the head of government. The Queen doesn't have any real political power, and any bill-signing she does is just a formality. She does, however, meet with foreign dignitaries, and it's kind of a big deal if said dignitary doesn't follow the customs. So it's mostly out of tradition, I believe.

    • A) Tourism B) Keeping the royal family gives the government money from a deal what went on many years ago, and it lowers everyone's taxes by £2.67

    • No, she doesn't have any power. I don't think we really know ourselves. For old times sake, I guess? Some people seem to like the monarchy, and it probably pulls in the tourists.

Why just ask about England? There are loads of other countries with Monarchs Cheaper than a President probably also tourism also 'technically a bastion of neutrality' also because what would happen to the crown without someone to put it on also they own loads of land

    • She still is a leader, she has to make important decisions, and she has great influence over her people. Kind of like a common voice. There is more to it than that, but I admit I am ignorant towards most governments.
