Innocent? lol No. I don't think this was a race thing on the Zimmerman side of things though. He ignored police, armed himself and followed the kid who was shot point blank range I believe (not sure) He had no reason to do those things. Even if the shot fired was in self defense he never should have been in that position in the first place.

He had every right to ignore the dispatcher. Him being armed is irrelevant. Defending your life is a reason. Trayvon should have never put him in that position.
-
Surely something must be said about willingly putting himself in danger by pursuing and then causing a fatality. The whole situation should never have happened because Zimmerman should not have followed him (the dispatch order is irrelevant).
-
How did he willingly put himself in danger? You should not have to expect danger if you're doing nothing wrong. It would have been avoided entirely had Trayvon minded his own business.
You should not have to expect danger if you're doing nothing wrong.
Maybe in an ideal world, but not in this one. You should not be surprised if you find yourself in danger after following around a suspicious looking youth.
-
Well, I agree, which is why you should be prepared to defend yourself and control the situation.

A police dispatcher cannot give a legally binding order. He has a licence to carry and he was on the neighborhood watch. Trayvon was high and looking in windows of a gated community that had suffered break-ins recently.
