I'm going to see if you can have multiple CSS announcements. That way the titles don't have to be done away with.

  • I just looked at your group but the original code got overwritten with the new code for me. Iggy said that once he finishes with the update, you'll be able to expand on it through related topics made.

  • Yeah, it worked for about ten minutes and then stopped.

Got space for one more line?
background: url("http://postimg.org/image/lo3o0m2rx/full/") fixed center top no-repeat #410709; }
This changes the blue site background to a red one.

  • I think if you use the same brackets you would use to bypass the swear filter, you can bypass the post length limit.

  • What do you mean, the alt 0173?

  • I guess... That sequence always redirects me to the homepage, but it's supposed to bypass all HTML formatting.

  • You need number lock on. So, how would I go about doing this so I'm not limited in the letter count?

  • I have number lock on, I think it's because I'm running XP. OT: I don't know, but Alt+0173's supposed to bypass all formatting done to the post after submission.

  • Why not switch to a Linux Distro? That's what I did on my old desktop running Vista.

  • Hmm... Is the OS free? Would I have to back up my files?

  • Yeah, pretty much all distros are free, you can find a good amount of them here. Ubuntu is the most well known, but Linux Mint would probably better since it is Ubuntu based and is even more user friendly and more like Windows. You'd have to back up your files, though not everything on Linux will work with Windows programs. If you want, you can burn an iso of one and try it off the live cd.

I just want to take over files not programs, are all file extensions compatible? OT: More user friendly? I'm using XP, not Seven or Vista. Unrelated Topic: The starfield backdrop doesn't scroll correctly when subthreads are open.

  • It should be, most of them will use Libreoffice or Openoffice. I believe Libreoffice will convert documents to their file type, can't remember though, sorry.

  • What about virus protection? I don't suppose I can continue using the same one I am now, can I?

  • Dude, hardly anyone makes viruses for Linux. Your chances of getting viruses is very slim.

  • Awesome, I'm already backing up my files. If anything goes wrong, my laptop is still running XP(I refuse to use a newer version of Windows, because everyone still supports XP). Thank you, for everything.

  • No, not yet. I'm still writing CSS for Emerald. I'm going to start doing OS work tomorrow. I've still got to find my blank CD roms.

Just saying, most distros allow you to run it off the cd without making any changes to the computer. That way, you could just download the image, burn the iso onto a cd, and then just pop the cd into your computer and then choose the option to run it off the cd. Here's a couple of guides. http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/try-ubuntu-before-you-install http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/burn-a-dvd-on-windows The guides are from Ubuntu but a good amount of distros just require the same steps. Here's where you could find Mint's LTS(Long Term Support) version. Assuming since your computer runs XP, you'd probably want the 32 bit version, also go with the Cinnamon DE version. It does work a lot different then Windows, but it should be easy to get the hold of, that's why I'd recommend trying it first. Might also be a good idea to look up videos on youtube for more info.

  • I made it public for a reason. I learned that when the announcement is public, any public thread will have the style applied for those running coup, regardless of if they are in the group or not.
