Dividing by zero in the last step is a no-no.

In the last step they divide by 'a - b'

Edited by HurtfulTurkey: 7/12/2013 5:57:42 PMWhich is equal to zero. You can't just cross those two 'a-b' factors off, because what you're actually doing is dividing one side by the other. If 'a-b' equals zero, you can't divide them. It's correct until the last step. 2(a-b) = a - b, because 2(0) = 0.
-
a=b therefore a-b=0. It essentially allows you to end up with any conclusion you want.
-
It is established before that "a=b". Therefore, to divide by "a-b", you are dividing by 0.
-
Hmm. I see. You're correct.

No, let him do it! It is all part of the Great Plan for world destruction! Do not doubt us again!
