Player-to-player trading could be good, so I can show my friend how amazing that new gun I just found in an ancient moon base is.
But I don't really like trading on a mass scale, as it is generally in MMOs which have lots of miscellaneous items. In an economy featuring only guns, I don't think it would work.
Legendary weapons should be earned, not bought. Blowing an alien to pieces with a weapon you just spent 2 hours fighting through a horde of aliens to get is infinitely more satisfying than doing it with a gun you just payed 70000 glimmer for.

The economy will revolve around arms and armor. We've seen screenshots of 5 different armor slots. So not only will it be guns that could be sold, but also armor. I agree with the Legendary weapons should be earned not bought, and a system to prevent things like that is easily put in place. WoW calls it soulbonding. All Legendaries should be Bind on Pick-up, meaning as soon as you loot it, its yours and you can't trade/sell it (other than to an NPC vendor)

Make legendary weapons untradeable?

Something like that perhaps. Or maybe a legendary can only be traded for a legendary? I don't know.
