Back in middle school I played the first one and I thought it was fun, then I got bored of it and traded it in. Then about 2 years ago I downloaded the game and I tried it again. After playing GTA 4 I could not stand that games gameplay and controls. It felt like shit. It was still the boring game to me so I deleted it. I did try the 2nd game, but I thought that was shit as well. It looked worse than the 1st game and I did not care for the gameplay. Driving felt so awkward to me.

I played Saints Row after I played GTA IV and IMO I find GTA IV to be a overglorified steaming pile of crap. Driving was awful in the game, story was boring, lacked stuff to do in the world, and overall gameplay was meh. Im looking forward to GTA V cause it looks like Rockstar rediscovered fun in GTA. Saints Row was much more enjoyable
story was boring.
The only mission I like from it was the bank robbery and even that was boring. Pretty every mission in San Andreas was fun or at least entertaining. Pretty much ever mission in GTA 4 was drive here, drive there, get chased by the cops and ditch them.
lacked stuff to do in the world.
So true. San Andreas had a shit load of side missions like those marathons. The map is the best because it has different environments to it and it's far more open. GTA 4 is nothing but closed in city. There's no change at all to it. I find it dumb that the game has off road vehicles when there's nothing for them. And it's pointless to have sports cars when there's hardly any straight places or areas to max them out. The airport is pretty much the only place to do it, but you're forced to do it with the cops turned off.
