It was said in descriptions of destiny pre reveal that all character would have special abilities. The Titan did a ground pound and the Hunter channeled energy directly into their weapon. Basic stuff. On the other hand the Warlock is tossing around supernovae like its nobody's business. Each class is special and they have powers that fit into the idea and design of each class. I don't see any class being better than any other except in regards to specialties.

Yea just since we haven't seen a lot yet, but after I posted this, the bungie interview said they would have more powers (team buffs)

Wonder if the Titan would have an ability where they can take more damage but move at a slower pace. Or if the Hunter has a cloaking ability that dissipates as soon as you fire a weapon.
