Sorry, but this game will always be the greatest space or RTS game of all time.

Most capital ships take around 10-13 days to build. Super capital ships are more like 20-24 days. Titans take 1 month 17 days ( but are a whole different story ) Once you have a blueprint for a capital ship you can build them. But if you perform research on the blueprint to improve it. Material Research reduces the amount of material required to build Time efficiency research reduces the time it takes to build. For capital ships 1 level of research takes about 2 months For super capital ships 1 level of research takes about 4 months. For titans, 1 level of research takes about 11 months.

Yeah, from conception to finish building a titan could take over a year easily. In order to build a titan you need an alliance that holds sovereignty over a system in null security space. Then you need to acquire the materials and ship them out there. You will need a starbase with a capital ship assembly array. Once the build process has started the corporation and alliance needs to keep the whole system, and surrounding systems under heavy guard and surveillance 24/7 If at any point they lose sovereignty over the system where the titan is being built, it will be aborted.
