Go into any online multiplay lobby and ask who wants Kinect and who wants a headset. Also, you're getting charged for the Kinect. The 360, which was cheaper than the Xbone, came with a headset, packaged. The things were so shitty that they could pack them in for free. Now they up the price and cut back on the product.

[b]If I want any of that I'll buy a mic, there's no need to make me pay more initially.[/b] If you then say that the mic doesn't cost [i]anything[/i], that it's pretty much [i]free[/i], wouldn't it be low quality, packed in just to have one? Wouldn't people complain about quality, that MS are [i]money grabbers[/i] out to trick consumers for their money, or buy something better, expect MS to release something better anyway? I think it's better to make a solid mic. Lasting objects are more environmentally sustainable. Not being able to use the old mic is however a poor move. The reason Kinect is included is because MS are naïve enough think that anyone--with exception of a few--are interested in their [i]vision of the future[/i]. They're trying to push a device that they hope will provide the way we interact with software in the near future, they're hoping that they're the ones that get people used to it; make it consensus. Just like Apple did with touch screens. A mic is not in their interest, a mic is already a thing, and they won't make significant amounts of money from it, or cause headlines for providing [i]innovation[/i] or whatever. So I understand why they are doing it, and am willing to tag along. It's not a big deal. But does including a mic make the box a overall more atractive purchase? Well, not it it's low quality, or if it increases the price... [b]Give it away as an investment?[/b] Any other alternative? But as I've understood, they have no rights at all; they have no right to be [i]visionary[/i]. Whether it's a vision of making a [i]rad[/i] future or simply a vision of how to make money on the future market (maybe to have a place at all). From my point of view it's like saying to a game developer that they should ignore a gameplay mechanic/feature just because you don't like it, instead of just discussing it or simply not buying it. Somehow MS, Sony and the other console manufacturers have become some kind of socialist organ, tasked to provide consumers with game consoles for their entertainment. All consoles should be the same and provide the same experience. No room whatsoever for anything else, no experimentation, nothing. [b]The world does not allow hardware manufactoring to be as much of an art as video games[/b], clothes, movies, etc. /rant
