I like them, but i dont see why you need military grade assault rifles? really wtf? Anyone who owns or supports the ownership of such a weapon is just a scare-mongered redneck -blam!- tard.

  • Do you know what military grade is? It certainly isnt the same as an 'assualt rifle', or the same as an 'assualt weapon' Currently it doesnt have specific term definition, and was made up by the civilian sector to tout, military grade materials.

  • Well im not a fire arm expert (obviously), but i dont see why civies need weapons that can fire so many rounds a minute.

  • It sounds like all of your "arguments" are from Piers Morgan. They're bad and can easily be countered. An AR-15 will only fire as many times as you pull the trigger. Typically it's 30 rounds then you have to reload.

  • What if we stopped giving illegal immigrants and people who sit on their asses their welfare? Maybe that would solve some problems.

  • I can train with a revolver, to be as proficient in rounds per minute as a semi auto. The only weapon that is heavily hindered for rpm, is a bolt action, but someone who is highly skilled can fire quite a few rounds with it with speed.

  • What would you define as military grade? An AR15 isnt military grade if thats what you're getting at

  • Except you can't own an assault rifle as per the 1986 Hughes Act.

  • You can't. An assault rifle is a rifle that has selectable fire modes (fully automatic, and semi) and fires an intermediate cartridge (5.56x45, 7.62x39, 5.45x39). An AR-15 is not an assault rifle. It fires only in semi-automatic. AR stands for ArmaLite.

  • You can. If i had the money, i can go buy a tax stamp, and buy a fully automatic ACR, but there comes heavy penalties and restrictions with it.

  • Unless you have a FFL and then become a Class III dealer then you can't own that ACR... :(

  • It's the same for every state. The Hughes Amendment made it near illegal for you to have any full auto rifle made after 1986 unless you had the proper licensing as a firearms dealer.

You dont have to have a FFL or be a class 3 dealer to purchase and own. I know a few people locally who have 'machineguns'.
You don't. There's no such thing. There are Class 3 dealers, of course. If you as a private citizen wish to own a full auto firearm, and your state doesn't prohibit it, you just need to find one you can afford (and be aware that not a lot of AK's made it on to the registry before it was locked down in '86) and apply for a tax stamp ($200) from ATF which they might get around to issuing to you in four to six months, after which you can take possession of your new toy. So mostly what it takes is money and time.
Dont spread misinformation. Also being military or government, or knowing people within helps.

  • I'm talking about guns that were made after the 1986 cut off.

  • I'm just pointing it out because many people don't know what AR stands for. The only "assault rifles" you can buy have to be made before 1986, and cost tens of thousands of dollars, 6 months of paper work, and a $200 tax stamp to the ATF.

  • /facepalm If you want to remove the AR(semi auto) you pretty much remove 95% of guns on the market. Hunting rifles, pistols, carbines, etc.
