Yeah, table top 40k is absurdly expensive. I recommend Dawn of War 2 + exspansions and Space Marine. If you are interested in the lore of 40k, grab the Eisenhorn Omnibus, the first 3 Horus Heresy books, or a Gaunt's Ghosts omnibus. That should cover the basics of the universe. Can't help you with EVE though.

The first Dawn of War was great, as was DoW2. 40k RTS games are probably the only RTS games I found any enjoyment in. And yeah the tabletop games are so -blam!-ing expensive, had a Games Workshop in the mall in my town. Great people who worked there, nice environment, but the prices were outrageous. They closed only about a year ago.

Worst example of pricing? Aspect Warriors. They went from $37.50 for 10 models to $35.00 for 5 models. That is nearly a 100% price increase for sculpts that are well over 5 years old.

Ridiculous prices. Absolutely insane. But I completely loved seeing a full battle-force painted and with accessories, especially the Tau

I saw this one wonderful Tau conversion. It was way back before 6th ed. Someone converted a Riptide sized Battlesuit using a hammerhead chassis and Broadside parts. It was amazing.

I would love too see that, I may have to google it

Thank you kindly.

No problem. I also recommend Imperial Glory and Fire Caste. These are both Imperial Guard books, but they are quite different from the norm and are two of the best BL books.
