Mass Effect 3 was by far the best of the series, but people are just too butthurt about the ending to recognize the rest of the game.

ME3 would be unplayable shit even if it had the best ending in the history of gaming. It's a sloppily-thrown-together abomination, and you have terrible taste.

You're going to have to elaborate, because I saw a game with a lot of great characters, a good plot, and refined gameplay which was enjoyable, with a lot more customization, and a much bigger scale.

In addition to removing any trace of RPG that ME2 forgot to suck out of the series, the game is just a poorly-written bore. Bioware got rid of the original ME writers and brought in some people that apparently didn't know the difference between Mass Effect and a terrible episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The Reapers lack absolutely any sympathetic face, the antagonist, the Illusive Man, is a generic, raving lunatic with no logical worldview. The characters are either utterly bland and useless (looking at you, Vega and the Gay Duo), or unbelievably thin. Conversations have been almost entirely been replaced with Kasumi/Zaeed-style three-line quips. The gameplay is still the poor man's Gears of War, the animations are hideous, the models and backgrounds are lazy, the story is on par with a Halo sequel, the lore is outright disregarded... It just sucks. It really, *really* sucks.

It should have included the facts presented in ME1 and ME2 and it should have had another year and a half to two years of further development. The music was nice though.
