Were winning =/= won. You failed to establish a democratic South Vietnam, ergo you lost. And just like Vietnamisation before it, giving Afghanistan back to the ANA will fail.

We (being the Uk) are withdrawing in 2014, I'm assuming the US is too.

The Taliban are still in Afghanistan, so they can't technically "invade" a space where they're already located. Secondly, the Taliban are just one of the many groups fighting against us in Afghanistan. Lastly, you are correct about ISAF forces training ANA forces; however, on a much larger scale than what you're talking about. It's not really in the "meantime" (assuming you're talking about until ISAF gets out of dodge), it's more of training them to be able to successfully defend themselves here on out.

I don't agree with hick, but I certainly will own up to trigger happy. The military has their troops so far indoctrinated to the point where any Muslim they see is a terrorist. Oh, and the guy who killed 16 civilians and isn't being executed for it doesn't help the claim that we aren't.
