He may have followed these steps below. 1.) Create a "Dummy" login method that you aren't currently using(Like Gmail) 2.) Link that to the account you wish to unlink. 3.) Unlink the account you wish to keep or just unlink, from the now "Dummy" account 4.) Walk away from the "Dummy" account and use the login that you unlinked how ever you want! Let me know if that makes sense or helps out! No problem, sorry if it's confusing! Basically all your doing is creating a "dummy" or disposal account, that you can link to an account you wish to use, but can't because it won't let you unlink it. After you do that, you should be able to unlink the account you wish to use. Does that make any sense?

What kind of dummy account are you trying to link, like Gmail, facebook? Are you able to link the dummy account or haven't you gotten passed that even? What is the exact issue you are having?

  • ive tried to link a dummy facebook, gmail, and WLID. none have let me unlink my PSN ID even after another account is linked. im trying right now to associate my xbox GT with a new email and seeing if i can then transfer over my GT to the account with my PSN ID. My bungie account with the xbox GT has 2 years on it so i would lose that status but better than nothing if i need them on same account. plus my account with PSN ID has the beta key redeemed on it. thoughts?

When your trying to unlink your account, your making sure your signed onto your dummy account right? And that your also signed off everything else, everywhere?
i cant unlink either even when i connect a dummy account to either one.
You don't just link the account, mate. You need to link the dummy account, log out, and sign in USING the dummy account. For instance, it says you have just a PSN linked to this account. If you want to unlink your PSN, you need to first link an XBL/Google/Facebook account to this Bnet account, sign out of this Bnet account, then sign in using the e-mail and password of the XBL/Facebook/Google account. Once you're signed in with that other method, THEN you will be able to unlink your PSN. It isn't enough to just link a dummy account. You can't unlink the login method you're currently on.
