Have you ever lost a close friend?
it sucks...we've been friends for 5 years
and yes I'm venting :P

I had one that turned into a weird jackass. I lost contact with my first one after transferring schools.

Fell out? no. Moved Away? Yes. Died? Yes, 4 people, one who was like a brother to me.

My friend of 12 years got a psycho bitch girlfriend who basically has him whipped, but obviously he doesn't see that. After spending our entire childhoods together we slowly drifted, and then his girlfriend decided to hate my girlfriend (for no reason, his GF has a personality disorder) and that was it.

2 RepliesYeah, my squad leader, SGT. pirone and my friend SPC melycher. We used to go drinking together. But besides that they were my infantry brothers. I trusted them with my life and they trusted me. I would have taken a bullet for them. I wish I had sometimes so that they could be with their families still.

Like them dying? No. My best friend did move away to a different country after being friends for 10+ years. We hardly ever talk now...

Not yet. My best friend leaves next month to start college early, but he promised to send me tickets to his games and we're only going to school like three hours away from each other, so I don't think I'll have a problem there. My girlfriend is going to school way far away, though, so...sadfaic

1 ReplyDrifted apart from two really good buddies I'd hung out with for many years back in my high school days. In one case it was kind of a personality burnout, we hung out so much it eventually got to a weird point where we couldn't stand each other. In the second case my buddy was changing a lot and I was in a very weird, rough patch in life. I regret how that second case went down especially. Nobody was trying to be an ass about anything in these situations but they just gradually developed to the point where I, especially, was acting like an ass. I've never really seen either of those guys since but I sent them both an awkward email apologizing for how stuff happened like a year or two later. First guy responded positively, apologized himself, and it was cool. Second guy never replied. It sucks, man, but it's a part of life. What happened with your bud? (It's cool if you don't wanna get into it.)
