How old is she? I'd go buy some exotic hardwood, some tung oil or polyurethane, and some high quality hinges. Make a simple yet beautiful box.

Well my idea could last her a long time, or she could forget about it. I suppose it depends on how important she is to you. She is 5 though, maybe just put some glitter on an existing box, or at least carve her name into it.
