>Baby Boomer looks for job when he was a kid.
>"Sure kid, come back tomorrow and I'll let you stack crates."
>Baby Boomer becomes manager.
>5 year work experience for minimum wage entry level position.
>"KIDS THESE DAYS ARE SO LAZY. THEY JUST WANT TO STAY AT HOME."
I -blam!-ing hate Boomers....

Are you referencing our current hardship to get work or am i just not picking up on anything right now?
-
Yes, most people in positions of accepting new applicants want bullshit requirements even for entry level positions, yet they probably just waltzed into the store and asked for a job and got it without even so much as a real interview.

Yup, and i'm sure both of us are going through it right now. I'm turning in applications at places and never getting calls because apparently i don't have the experience required, yet how could i ever start building it up if no one gives me a chance like the poster below me said? Getting pretty annoying hearing that "oh you don't want to work at all you just want to sit on your ass all day" crap. Oh sorry, i actually have to really try to find a job, i can't just like you posted waltz in and ask to start working the next day, it's not -blam!-ing like that now.

So true yet my mom who is a baby boomer herself, cannot find a job. Everyone is looking for "experience" yet how can you gain experience if they never let you earn it?
