THERE ARE EVEN DAILY STORMS ON THE MOON.
Bungie DID mess up on one thing though; one wouldn't see the stars from the moon during the day; the sun is so bright, it effectively "out shines" them. Go look at any footage or pics from the moon landings, and you'll see no stars at all.

Which in turn supports my artificial atmosphere theory.
-
How does seeing stars on the moon while the sun is clearly up indicative of atmosphere in any way?
-
A light/thin (thinner than Mar's) atmosphere could in theory allow both star light and sun light to pass through but at a lessened brightness. We could therefore see both.
-
That's not how that works.
-
How do you know what works? We've never given the moon an atmosphere, much less seen another planet with an atmosphere from the ground up to the sky (view) so how come you know everything there is to know about terraforming? Something we'll never see in our lifetime. Lets stop acting like we have the universe figured out and enjoy a sci-fi game that gives us a fun future to enjoy... Shit.
-
Because I understand how light works? I understand how atmospheres act in the presence of light? It's pretty basic 8th grade science class stuff... Or Discovery and Nova programming... And.... you know what? The information is out there. It's not hard to come across. That's how I know. Also, we've seen what Mars looks like from the ground with a visible sky. We sent a few rovers there. You may have heard of them. Bad Astronomer would love you.
-
Lol the moon is so small, the atmosphere would follow suit, there'd be no blue sky, and the sun would act completely different. Too bad you're too dense to escape your own pride which goes hand in hand with your stupidity. 8th grade science, ha! Childish remarks from a childish person.
-
So you're saying that a less dense atmosphere would not only not act as a prism, but it would some how act as a weird filter that would dim the light of the sun enough to make the stars visible. Yeah. Alright. If you say so.
-
I'm glad you could bite yourself down, maybe it'll help you later. In other news, the Hunter looked wicked with his cape blowing in the moon wind with the stars behind him :) LOL

Edited by Charlemagne: 5/25/2013 4:09:49 AMAren't you the one who is enforcing suspension of disbelief. If the atmosphere was made by Humanity then it may not be made of the same elements. It could be made of the Traveler's magic for all we know.
-
Hmm, that's pretty interesting stuff.....................
But does it explain why the wind is moving towards the sun?
-
To make the cloaks blow dramatically.
-
Eheh, i kinda figured it'd boil down to this.........
-
Because the wind's direction?
-
That they're just trying to make them look cool, not that that's a bad thing.

Edited by Lord Decitron: 5/25/2013 1:50:14 AMBut does RoC really break your immersion? Also, I go on and refer to tropes ALL THE TIME.
-
Only when it breaks physics..........
-
That's sad. For me, what's cool/ fun is what is immersive. Heroic imagery and the such is strongly in both of those categories. So much so, that I wish more shooters would adopt wide-heroic stances, vs efficient, streamlined junk that looks so... mundane.
-
Oh no, that's not what i mean at all, if there's an in-universe reason for why we have space marines shooting fireballs out of one hand and fist sized bullets out of a revolver in the other, i'll be more than happy to go along with it; and if those bullets and fireballs are shot at a 4 armed alien split jaw, well that's even better! But despite that, i can't help but be bugged by little oversights in physics; it's attention to detail like that that separates the good from the great IMO.
-
I don't think making a cloak blow in what is thought of a vacuum has to be an "over site" so much as blatantly ignored on purpose for awesomeness' sake.
-
I fully understand that, picking nits is just a bad habit of mine...........
-
So is going crazy on the ellipses.
