It's a sci-fi/fantasy game. It's not meant to match reality.
If there were no atmosphere, hunters and warlocks couldn't go to the moon without space suits (assuming the Titan's suit is air tight like the Mjolnir armor).
If you really need an explanation, remember Destiny takes place after humanity's golden age. We very well may have created an atmosphere on the moon.

Suspension of disbelief is funny and fickle thing, it allows me and others to believe in magic, aliens, chaos gods, superpowers, artificial intelligence and every-other thing that doesn't exist in real life, as long as it follows the laws of it's fictional universe; but the second you have capes getting blown by wind in a VACUUM, i stop believing.

Right, which is why I suggested that perhaps the moon is no longer a vacuum.

So if the moon has an atmosphere, why can't we see it? why can we clearly see out into space? it doesn't add up.

It could be a relatively thin atmosphere.

Terraforming is something that exists in many Sci-Fi universes. We would not have been able to colonize Mars, Venus, or Europa without it.

If the moon had an atmosphere, then why can i clearly see the stars and the earth? an atmosphere would distort our view out into space like it does on earth.
