I have owned both a PS3 and an Xbox 360. I think that the 360 is better, and sold my PS3; but I will still be buying a PS4. Here are my reasons: -I don't think Xbox One's DDR3 can keep up with PS4's GDDR5 in the end, and cloud computing cannot fix that. -I don't think Xbox One's focus on "entertainment" will keep them ahead of the game. -The kinect is a novelty included with every Xbox One which means they needed to cut corners elsewhere. -Their software architecture is not built around gaming, instead around multitasking. -The Xbox One is turning society into the Orwellian "Big Brother" concept. -I don't care what's 'trending' either, I'd much rather be a leader than a follower. Lastly, the Xbox One is obviously more popular among B-net because most of the people voting are here because of Halo. That's all I need to say.

  • actually, RAM speed means relatively little. The GDDR5 refers to the gpu of the PS4. What you just did was compare a graphics unit to RAM and said "the PS4 doesn't have RAM, but instead has a GPU so will be better for gaming" The X1 has DDR3 RAM at 1333Mhz, enough to run a gaming rig now. The 3200Mhz in the PS4 means relatively little. DDR3 RAM at that speed has been released, and offers all but a few fps of difference in games on PC. It's more like 65FPS vs 69FPS on indentical settings on an otherwise identical build. The DDR4 is unreleased to PC gamers, so is likely to have a high CAS value (latency), so may in fact be slower than the X1s tried and tested, PC gamer standard RAM. Games are entertainment. And there is no point showing off all your games at your initial release, then showing skype and kinect at E3. Otherwise things would be a waste. Order doesn't matter, and non-gamers don't pay attention to E3. There will be 15 exclusives for X1 in the first year, and expect pretty much all of them to be announced at E3. If X1 is better at E3 than the PS4, then your argument is invalid. Kinect may be a novelty, but you don't have to use it, and you never know in this industry. Define "built around gaming." By partitioning system functions to another system, they will have sped up the machine, improving gaming performance. Don't see how the X1 is turning us into big brother. Microsoft isn't watching us, that would be illegal. I don't give a crap about trends either. It's your decision, you buy what you think is best.

  • I didn't say that the PS4 doesn't have RAM. The use of GDDR5 is better if you note the likelihood of increased complexity in the next generation console games (higher polygon counts, more complex post process image quality). I'm looking for a console that can last a decade of gaming. Also having Skype/Kinect/IE running while gaming certainly takes up more processing power, so that is a downside as well. I'm not going to make a final decision until both of the consoles are released, but E3 will certainly help me make up my mind.

  • One CAN run games at the same time as the entertainment functions but they specifically said it runs on 3 operating systems as to not slow down gaming in anyway. Especially if you're not even running anything BUT a game.
