I don't support the war on terror in it's current form because it: - costs taxpayers a huge amount of money - encourages racism - results in more innocent deaths from wars in the middle east; the war on terror has killed many more civilians than "terror" itself

 • Obviously not all deaths are documented but as a rough estimate: http://www.state.gov/j/ct/rls/crt/2011/195555.htm 15000 per year die from terrorism (most of this isn't in the US, but in volatile states) http://www.iraqbodycount.org/ about 12000 civilian deaths from violence have been documented in Iraq since 2003. That's an average of 12000 per year. Therefore if you assume that the number of undocumented civilian deaths in Iraq plus the number of civilian deaths in Afghanistan is less than 3000 a year, you must conclude that world wide the war on terror kills more innocent people than terror.

 • You forget that the majority of civilian deaths are by the insurgents themselves, or aren't civilian deaths at all. The issue, for one, is that when we do kill someone, their buddies strip them of evidence and then point at us saying "you killed a civilian!" or they go and kill civilians and blame it on us. It happens a lot, and 99% of the CivCas from my last deployment were because of that. It's because the war, and insurgency we are fighting, is fighting and winning the political war, by making us look bad to not only the local nationals of that country, but also to our own people. The War on Terror isn't one of guns and bullets, it's of politics and slander.
