My guess is you don't know many people there which is why you wouldn't wanna go by paying(i'm assuming). I can't ever accept money for a friend to go somewhere i personally wouldn't want to go (Not saying you don't want to, just putting my feet in your shoes.), and if accepting money from a friend isn't weak enough(not to add the fact she's a girl, definitely makes it worse), paying me to try to have fun is definitely weaker. Total weaksauce bro. Either pay it or don't go.

I know everyone there, but it's not worth it to pay $70 + money for food and drinks, when I could just hang out with those people at my house for free. And it doesn't make sense for me to pay $70 for something when I could pay $0 for something.

I have a job, and $820 in the bank. But it doesn't make sense to pay for something when I could get it for free. Ever heard of something called "dollar worth"? It's the amount of money you're willing to pay for something. For prom, the dollar worth for me is around $15. Anything over that, and I'm not paying.

To me, tipping is always part of the bill. People who don't tip are pretty much thieves in my eyes. But if I was with a friend, and he offered to pay the tip, I'd let him.
