They're worse for the environment than fossil fuel cars because of the amount of electricity they use from power stations is more than cars that use petrol use petrol (or "gasoline" if you prefer or some run off diesel instead...)
I propose that we invent a car that runs off water. Think about it, you put water in, the car battery will use electricity to electrolyse the water into hydrogen and oxygen, burn the hydrogen to produce power to fuel the car with the only by products being oxygen and water and the battery would recharge by the motion of the car and the only fuel is water!

But the thing that Electricity is not limited. We have unlimited amounts of electricity!
-
We make it from fossil fuels which are not unlimited :/

Really? I thought Electricity was generated from those big fans? just rotations in a magnetic field? Then how do cars regenerate car batteries from motion?
-
The wheels rotating is enough to make sure that the chemicals in the battery are reacharged but not enough energy to make the car travel forwards. Wind turbines don't produce enough electricity to be reliable on and are only used in conjunction with fossil fuel power stations to slightly reduce the amount of fossil fuels used in power stations but not to eliminate the need and electric cars are still worse for the environment than petrol and diesel and gasoline cars but you cannot have perpetual motion so you cannot get 100% of the battery to run the car to recharge the battery because of tyres having friction with the ground and some of the energy from the battery ends up as heat loss. My idea of a water run car works because you are still putting fuel in.

Hmmm interesting.

Which part of it?

It better have a fiberglass aircooled engine!

Edited by Mitochondrion: 5/10/2013 4:09:24 PMWhere you gonna get plutonium or DT or whatever fuel it runs off after the world ends and drilling and transport of petroleum, and fractional distillation thereof, ceases?

Dude it was a joke lighten up.

I posted in the wrong thread they really should improve on their reply system I think that electric cars will never work. My idea of on board water electrolysis works best.

The good thing about electric cars is there instant torque. I think we should test out all race events with at least one electric car. Have one guy be the guinea pig in a race of 12 guys using gas cars. From Drag Races to Rally Races to NASCAR. I think Electric cars have a better application in racing than long term driving.
-
Electric cars won't work ever Instant torque isn't enough of an advantage in order to outweigh all of the glaring disadvantages in design. It's more of a silver lining to a dark cloud than a positivity.

documentary on that electric car

Really? Let me introduce to The White Zombie. He beat a GTR.
