I don't I think I hit my head that hard, I don't think I need to go to the hospitable.

Edited by Mr Admirals7044: 5/9/2013 9:59:48 PMYou said you suffered a concussion. Do you not realize that's a medical emergency?
-
This is like my fifth or sixth concussion, I've never gone to the hospital for the other ones, and in like two or three of the other ones I've been knocked out. The only thing that concerns me is the whole I don't remember things very well, but that'll probably go away. We'll see how tomorrow goes, if I'm still having problems, I'll go to the doctor.
-
You're supposed to see a doctor as soon as possible to prevent mental, physical, and brain injuries. The fact you think hitting your head hard enough to cause your brain to hit the inside of your skull does not warrant a trip to the doctor's office is pretty amazing if you ask me. You know the Brain doesn't repair itself, right?
-
Yes, but what's the doctor going to do? Nothing, all he's going to do is be like get some rest bro. I've already taken ibuprofen to help with swelling, there's nothing the doctor is really going to do. I don't want to cause us an expensive trip to the ER for no reason.

Edited by Mr Admirals7044: 5/9/2013 11:14:28 PM-_- Have you... Nevermind. Well, let's see, what's the doctor going to do? Check your memory, which evidently has suffered damage, and check your motor fuctions. If something is wrong, which there obviously is, then they will probably moniter your condition and do what they can to prevent it from getting worse, or make it better. You damage the most vital organ in your body, the part of your body which is one of the least understood things in the universe, and you're just going to call it a day and get some rest? That's like a person with glass bones never going to the ER when they break a bone because it's not that bad and it'll heal. I know doctors are expensive, but the best thing you could do is atleast go to one of those Ready Care places at CVS. Heck, I'm still astonished why you're still sitting here when you can't remember last week.
-
I can remember last week, just not as well as I normally am able to.
-
And that doesn't bother you enough to seek proffesional help? One second you can remember last week, the next it's broken up? Dude, something just happened to your brain. Your brain hit the inside of your skull so hard, you're having trouble remembering last week. That doesn't make you worried enough to seek help of any kind? Not to mention, it's your 5th or 6th concussion. And you've never seen a medical proffesional of any kind, so not only will they not be able to judge the current state of your brain as well, but they won't have any data points on how your body reacts to concussions.
-
Now you're making me feel bad, I kind of want to go, but then I just don't know. I don't want to tell my parents we need to go to the emergency room. I'm starting to feel fine right now, maybe a little foggy, but that's normal. The only other thing is memory problems, but I don't know. I just don't know if I should go. And it's not so much trouble remembering, well I guess it is. I'm just having some problems recalling stuff like I normally would, and my memories instead of smooth and flowing are fragmented.
-
Frankly, if you're living with your parents, the first thing you should've done is told them. You don't need to say, "I need to go to the ER" Just tell them what's up so if your condition worsens they know why you're getting worse. Frankly, I'll be honest: I was guilt tripping you because I don't think you realize how serious a concussion is.
-
Oh no, I've already told them, that's why I stayed home from school. My mom is a medical assistant, so she just told me to tell her if I begin feeling nauseous or anything. I told her about the memory thing about an hour ago, and she said we'll just keep an eye on it and if anything gets worse, we'll go to the hospital.
-
Well, then there you go. If you would've said you were checked by someone with Medical Knowledge, we could have gotten through this a lot faster. :)
-
You know, the more concussions you get, the worse they can be.
-
Yeah, I know. It scares me how many I've had, but I'm not going to stop downhill mountain biking and motocross any time soon, so I just have to try to not crash and hit my head on my sink.
