I've never bothered with cosplay. I might consider trying it out in the future if I have the time. When I do, I'm cosplaying Thorin Oakenshield.

I'm 6' 1", but maybe it could work if I amputate everything between my knees and my ankles.

Just get someone to go with you that's a lot taller, and make sure they stand by you the entire time. Then you'll look short in comparison.

If I took height into consideration, it would probably be much easier finding someone a good deal shorter than me to cosplay as Bilbo Baggins. As long as we didn't run into any Tumblr fangirls demanding that we make out with each other.

Do a simple Google Image search: Thorin and Bilbo. You'd be surprised at what I had to scroll through to get the image above.

If I ever decide to go with it, I think I'll also take some liberties with the beard, and perhaps add his signature tasseled hood from the book.
