Edited by Bernard: 5/2/2013 8:27:31 PMI thought it was an interesting read. Considering the majority of conservatives are christian why wouldn't they believe that the apocalypse is inevitably going to happen?

Edited by BADMAGIK: 5/2/2013 8:37:07 PMIt is so funny how many people vomit bs as if they know what they're talking about when in fact they know nothing. If you have not read the Bible, then stop claiming you have knowledge about it. Reading little passages here and there is not reading the Bible. The book of revelations was a vision St. John had that never came true. It was supposed to happen but it didn't. Now, the reason why that book is still in the Bible is because there are lessons to be learned from it. Also, the world will end one day. How, why and when will be unknown until it happens.
-
Yet there are many christians today who believe it.
-
Edited by BADMAGIK: 5/2/2013 8:40:40 PMAgain, you're so ignorant. Christians believe in the word of God. Will the world end one day? Yes, of course it will. Everything has an ending. No one knows about that day or hour, not even the Angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. -Mathew 24:36
-
And you're pretty hostile on this subject. Doing nothing to stop climate change simply because you assume that the world will end only by the will of god is still insane.
-
Edited by BADMAGIK: 5/2/2013 8:53:07 PMHow am I hostile? I am not hostile in any way. The word ignorant is not a negative word. You and myself are ignorant in many things as it is impossible to know everything. Second: You claim Christians go around preaching the end of the world. No they do not. Only looney tunes do that, just like anything else. And your source is not credible. The article is making false claims and trying to relate faith because the author is trying to come up with a justification as to why some stupid bill got turned down. Believe it or not, but most bills and legislation gets turned down because they are not practical, not because of some stupid ideology the main stream media vomits at it's viewers.
The article is making false claims and trying to relate faith because the author is trying to come up with a justification as to why some stupid bill got turned down.
Wow, you are ignorant. The author is claiming nothing. He is relaying the claims of a study done whose results show that a belief in the Christian end-times story strongly correlates to a tendency to not support policies that would seek to alleviate climate change. Your interpretation of the Bible is irrelevant here, what is relevant is that the people surveyed interpret it as they do, which I'm sure was determined as part of the survey. This claim is grounded in statistical analysis, not conjecture, as you allege. But, since you say the author is making false claims, perhaps you could point out those claims and demonstrate why they are false?

There are plenty of crazy christians within the government, no doubt about that, and it's just a theory I found interesting.
-
And for every crazy one, there are like 100 normal ones. People in general only focus on the negative. Imagine if people started looking for only the good in each other. Words cannot describe how incredible and magical that would be.
