Dat propaganda. How can people even take things like this seriously? The cartoon author is not making fun of those who died. He's addressing the ridiculousness of Perry's policy, and what can come of it, and you are falling for it and taking the bait. The author wants people to read it. He wants people to get upset, cause an uproar and thereby give him tons of publicity. You're only giving him exactly what he wants, which is getting his point across to as many people as possible. Not to mention that he's completely right. "No regulations! No check ups! No safety inspections or permits!" is all fun and games, until some poorly run factory causes an explosion that could have easily been prevented. And when someone eventually points out such idiocy, the only response the people behind such a flawed policy can give is "OMG, look at them, they're using the HORRIBLE DEATH OF FELLOW AMERICANS to support their WICKED POLITICS!!11!!" And then some people wonder why America's populism is often the laughing stock of many other Western first world countries.

  • Funny how this is the first time the subject of regulation has come up considering the fact that Texas has been doing well without it. A lot better than states that have too much regulation. The artist jumped on this because it's the first time a lack of regulation has caused a problem, further proving how he's desperate. And if you're dumb enough to think one instance of disaster counteracts the massive economic prosperity Texas was having, then you're an idiot. And this is coming from someone whose parents work for OSHA.

  • But that's kind of how it goes. Live and let live, until something happens that brings a new issue to the table and inspires a debate. It's how politics work. And why do you think the author was so desperate? The guy's a cartoonist. It's his job to address political, economical and social issues through his works. I understand that demonizing him and making him out to be a damn democrat vulture by profiling him as a foul and desparate person fits really well in this kind of blatant propaganda, but I don't see how a cartoonist doing his job is suddenly making him desparate.
