The first two comments is why I don't even waste my time trying to have intelligent discussions with Flood.
Oh you have a different opinion that I do? You must not be very intelligent or you're a troll

What opinion is there to have though? Gays getting married is none of your business. Why is this even a discussion. Gays getting married only affects.......wait for it.........GAYS!!! You will not be forced into gay marriage, or become gay. Throughout it all, it is none of your damn business how people live there lives when it has no affect on you.
-
The debate now is basically does Christianity have any kind of hold over marriage. And as it stands now it does.
-
It shouldn't, considering it isn't a christian, or religious construct.
-
For the past hundreds and hundreds of years Marriage has been rooted in the Christian faith. In fact if you go in to a court to get married the Judge still says "As God as your witness do you take this man/woman to be your husband/wife"
-
No, handfasting in the pagan faith was one of the first forms of marriage. LOOOOOOONG before Christianity ever took root.
-
So we are basing it upon Christianize use of it for a couple hundred years? Then your basis of legacy fails, since it has been used far longer in other institutions, and even longer socially. Try again
-
I am saying that the federal government bases its definition in the Christian faith.
-
Why are you assuming that?
-
"As God as your witness do you take this man/woman to be your husband/wife" And I think there was a couple other references is what the JUDGE SAID when my brother got married in the courts a year ago.
-
Are you this daft? So, because the us government included a vague term about god in reference to marriage, it is a christian construct?

Edited by ThisIsForMarty: 5/2/2013 3:29:44 PMJust re watched the tape. "Marriage is a union between 2 people and God overseen by the state and should not be taken lightly."
-
What tape?

Edited by ThisIsForMarty: 5/3/2013 2:50:09 AMMy brother got married in a courthouse a year ago and I recorded it.
-
Not really. Many religions, and many tribes all practiced marriage. They have no authority on it, but they think they do.
-
Care to elaborate? The point of this thread was to be logical and civil.
-
Except you're incapable of that.
-
No one invited you in here.
-
I guess you don't understand the concept of a public forum.
-
Logic and civility do not exist on the Flood. If I were you I wouldn't bother trying to find it.
-
They only don't exist until you do it.
-
You mean three right?
