yes, a 2ds is a 3ds without the 3d gimmick.

I kind of want to pick up a Mario game but which one do you think is the best? I like mario kart and the platformers but there are a lot of options. Oh and I'm also thinking about Luigi's mansion

Mario kart 7 Mario tennis open Super mario 3d land Ocarina of time Profressor Layton miracle mask pokemon x and y (releasing this year) Luigi's mansion Fire emblem Yoshi's island 3ds (releasing this year) Donkey kong 3ds (almost the same as wii but releasing on 3ds in full 3d this year!) Zelda 3ds (Releasing this year and is based off the original zelda style) Keep in mind that I wrote these games really quick and trust me they are (or will) be good. I've played all the ones on the list besides the unreleased ones. Oh! I forgot. Buy super mario 64 ds. Play it on 3ds. The ds version now has an analog stick and has now beaten the original for many hardcore fans. It has better graphics and more levels and more characters and now you can play it with an analog stick on the 3ds. The 3ds xl would work better than the 3ds since it plays ds games better! I'm a big nintendo fan
