I've previously posted arguments against Prone and other such mechanics in Destiny. In summary, unless such a system serves a significant functionality in increasing the action within the scope of the game, it should not be included.

I don't want to go prone at all! I mean it's not bad but I just feel I want it to be a high speed game still and prone can really kill that sometimes!

Agreed 100%. I also appreciate that by leaving these gimmicky mechanics out that don't really enhance core gameplay, Bungie's FPS experience has always been very skill-oriented. Frankly, the evade armor ability tweaked may be enough to have a middle ground.

Edited by DEZARATH: 4/25/2013 7:06:30 PMIt's not just about function that sells a game it's called fun, the action itself might not fit your criteria for a reason to include it but once again fun sells games, that's why Crisis and COD and every other game includes it regardless of nitpicking it to a minute equation of how fast a bullet moves compared to gamer ratio response.

Of course Game Designers worry about fun. But [i]fun[/i] springs from well designed systems. Well designed systems spring from a critical eye on all levels of game mechanics. Good design is the cause, [i]fun[/i] is the effect.

Then plant your butt at a desk and figure out how to include it so it meets your criteria for a fun game and get back to us.
