Probably doing that for that reason forge. Xbox probably wants you to make the mistake of renewing your subscription for live before next gen so that it encourages you to get the 720 since youd be locked in. As for me my live runs out at the perfect time in november :D. Its a good strategy by microsoft. However I think if the ps4 has free online then its really gonna be tough for the 720 to gain a foot hold since their networks are so similar now

Lets say you pay for a year subscription right now and next gen comes out in december. Having already paid for xbl for another 5 months you may be inclined to buy a 720 since you already have xbl paid for.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be abrasive. I just get sad when gamers continue to perpetuate the myth that PSN's free service gives you everything you get for Xbox Live's Gold service. It's not true, and to complain about a $5/month premium service that offers more reliability, more security, more entertainment options, a better network, and more speed than just about any other cloud service on the planet is an incredibly silly thing to do, and makes gamers as a whole look like a bunch of self-entitled idiots. No offense intended.

Its no problem man the price is meaningless I can easily afford it its just the principle of paying for something that another service may offer for free at a similar quality. Those things you mention about xbox live is true now Idk about next gen. Still have to wait and see but I was trying to say its gonna be tough for the 720 to gain a foothold if the next gen online statistics are similar which at this time they appear to be. Just have to wait and see it will be interesting if the online systems end up being similar it may pressure xbl to become free

Yeah.. I think they are going to need to go the same route PSN is going.. Free to play online games and Plus for all the nice perks. Well.. glad I cancelled.. I may be bored more now than ever..but that is the price to pay for saving money on a system soon to be extremely outdated.

Maybe.. But there is no one to really game with though.. I really wished I would have gotten that Tag Duel achievement in Yu-Gi-Oh.. Then I would have had all 12 in that game.
