Dude probably had stuff to deal with. It might be strange since people don't usually just "up and go" like that, but if he told everyone he was leaving, seems fine to me. However, just ditching all of you like that...dick move, man. I'm sure he had his reasons, though.

Meh, some people just do that. Maybe it was something personal, and he didn't want anyone even asking about it, so he kept things mostly quiet and just bailed.
