His last name is Dragon now? Shit, I need to catch up sometime, haven't watched that show since they changed they changed the voice actors.

'Dragon' is a first name. In Japan, the Surname/ Family name is said first. And his name has been Dragon since like... episode 80 or so.

I haven't watched it since they went up to some giant city in the clouds, which was like 5-6 years ago. Oh well.

Ah yes. That was about 150 episodes past the one where Dragon was introduced. And since you stopped there, you probably watched it in English which is very unfortunate since that means you probably watched the 4kids version- as that was the only one that aired on English-Speaking Nations' televisions. I urge you to google one piece and 4kids, or youtube it. You'll see very quickly why it is not representative of the actual show, and how their version of the show almost bankrupted the company.
