That impedes on the child's right to live. Freedom in interaction between people is mutual. That's the whole -blam!-ing point of it. If you're going to spout off this insatiable crap than just leave. Yes, politics in GENERAL is full of shit, but trying to ban weapons will not stop violent crime. Look at Switzerland. They have a fully armed population with military weapons yet have very little violent crime.

Whether any measure to stop gun crime like this should or should not be implemented is entirely contingent on whether or not it works and the costs of implementing it, not whether or not braindead hicks can spout off loudly enough about their freedumbs being violated. Also, I'm pretty sure all Swiss gun purchases require a background check and registry.
