This is why I am independent, both sides are stupid in their own way.

Yeah, that's not true. The Republican party is quantifiably more extremist and obstructionist than the Democratic party is now, or than either party has been in decades.
-
Read what I said again, stupid and idiotic not obstructive and non-helpful, Republican are extremists yet Democrats are too passive. Where is the middle ground? The two party system is broken FUBAR destroyed or whatever word you choose to use one side says something the other side says the exact opposite, what about us that are in the middle that want ideas of each party and mix it, we are SOL.

You're a fool if you believe democrats aren't just as horrible and dangerous as republicans. Just look at George and Barack, they are nearly identical.

Edited by Bistromathics: 4/12/2013 9:51:46 PMI don't care about horrible and dangerous. Which is why I mentioned extremist, as in constantly amending your own budget to make it lean more towards your side and appeal to 80-something freshmen hardliners, and obstructionist, as in specifically charting out a strategy to use government default as leverage for your policies and calling it a "hostage worth ransoming". Handy graphic of political polarization, and one for cloture motions. With regards to cloture, Republicans have basically been filibustering for the hell of it. They filibustered extension of unemployment benefits in 2009 for four days... then the bill was passed 98-0. So what was their complaint?

Barack isn't guilty of worse with his abominable cuts?

Edited by Bistromathics: 4/12/2013 9:53:59 PMAdjectives I've used: 1. Extremist 2. Obstructionist Adjectives you've used: 1. Horrible 2. Dangerous 3. Abominable We're not exactly on the same page here. ...That being said, I do believe spending cuts are bad.
-
Wow, nice pointless ramble. I wish spending cuts were far more severe. Abolish the income tax and then maybe.
-
Edited by Bistromathics: 4/12/2013 11:08:29 PMBut that would be horrible and abominable! Still, I'll take my "Brevity Is Wit" award for being able to ramble in just under 30 words.
-
The income tax is simply theft and causes a lot of harm and tyranny.

I take it about as serious as any mainstream media. I prefer the great and sound Judge Andrew Napolitano.

I thought we were talking about congress. In which the republicans have filibustered a record number of times, so what he said is fact.
