Hi Simseo, thanks for your comment. Would you say they are terrible because they're worse than what Halo 4 has, or because they're based on an Infinity-style multiplayer? Because, as I say in the OP, it seems clear to me that Infinity is the future of Halo MP. I think everyone would like a return to Halo 2/Halo 3-style arena combat, but that doesn't seem realistic. So, rather than wishing for something to happen, I thought I would work with what exists now.
But if it is the former, I hope you can offer some suggestions. I moved Promethean primaries to the map and cut the number of usable AA's down to 5, with the rest on the map. The Dropshield, Auto-Turret, and AC are the closest I could get, with the current weapon sandbox, to the Bubble Shield, Power Drain, and AC Powerup. You can't choose a secondary weapon or grenade, and you can't get a single power weapon from Ordnance. Nobody can unexpectedly show up with a Sniper or Rockets. Forerunner weapons are summoned to the map, not players, meaning everyone will be fighting for them, rather than having a Binary Rifle drop into player's lap. I reduced the effectiveness of perks by making some of them weapon attachments, so they won't work with every weapon. Some, like Dexterity and Firepower, got split into two. Similarly, perks to increase grenade damage, eliminate de-scope, and allow for grenade pickup are gone altogether. Mechanics like "slowdown" and flinch when you're shot are also gone. IMO, this is an improvement on Halo 4's Infinity MP in every way, and it does a better job of balancing the class-based system that caters to casual players and the arena-style combat that caters to core Halo fans.
